Childerns Hospital is a live-action spoof on TV hospital dramas that premiered on Adult Swim on July 11, 2010.
Plot[]
The show is a parody of numerous hospital-themed dramas including House, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy and ER. The hospital is named as after an unseen Dr. Childrens. Episodes are usually narrated by one of the female doctors (A rip on Grey's Anatomy) and feature spoofs on hospital drama clichés such as relationships between hospital staff.
History[]
The show was originally a 10 episodes web series hosted on TheWB.com in 2008. Each webisode was between 3–5 minutes long and had no official episode title. In 2009, the series then started talks with various channels about a full series run, eventually landing a deal with Adult Swim. Adult Swim decieded to run the web episodes as the show's first season and will then air newly produced episodes as Season 2. Each of the 5 first season episodes will contain 2 of the 10 original webisodes.
Cast[]
- Rob Corddry as Dr. Blake Downs
- Lake Bell as Dr. Cat Black (Bell's role will be downsized in Season 2 because of her commitment to HBO series How to Make it in America)
