Dethklok is a virtual band that appears in the Adult Swim animation show called Metalocalypse and also, they are a real band, created to perform live music of the melodic death metal genre. Both bands were created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha. The music that is part of the Metalocalypse soundtrack is performed by Brendon Small, with the help of others with whom he also shared live performances and album making.

Dethklok's first official album was released on September 25, 2007, titled The Dethalbum. This debuted at number 21 on Billboard magazine's album chart. The band released their second album, Dethalbum II, on September 29, 2009. To promote it, they went on tour with Mastodon, High on Fire and Converge. The band's third album, Dethalbum III, was released on October 16, 2012. Additionally, the soundtrack for the special episode of Metalocalypse, Doomstar Requiem, was released on October 29, 2013.
