T.E.R.R.Y. the robot feels outdated when he turns twenty-one, and the staff tries to cure his depression.

Plot[]

Randy finds T.E.R.R.Y. having hung himself, he then arrives at his surprise party to deliver the news. Patient 88 is distraught, but Joey gets confirmation from Dr. Roberts that he can't die, and he does this every year around his birthday. T.E.R.R.Y. reveals to Dr. Roberts that he hates birthdays, because he's essentially become obsolete. Diane arrives and her and Dr. Roberts decide to give T.E.R.R.Y. his own Dreamwalk. Joey points out this is impossible due to him lacking a sub conscience, so instead they'll be adding him to 88's weekly.

Despite Joey's warnings and 88's reluctance, they go ahead with the procedure anyway. Once inside T.E.R.R.Y. transforms himself into a muscular version of Randy, and indulges in cookies. Eventually he lands in a cornfield, where 88, who's now a scarecrow begins losing function. Joey determines based on his dream that T.E.R.R.Y. is afraid of death.

T.E.R.R.Y. walks into a cellar and rides up an escalator arriving back at Nana's funeral, who tells him that death is a part of human experience. T.E.R.R.Y. then finds solace in the fact that he will live forever, and the rest of them are going to die.

With renewed resolve in his mortality, the party commences to "Childhood's End", with 88 still unconscious.
