Dr. Roberts' old college roommate, Bill Ruff, pays a visit to Dream Corp LLC under the guise of selling bad office artwork. Everyone in the staff is charmed except for 88 who makes it his mission to expose Bill's real intentions.
88 becomes suspicious when Bill tells a supposedly true story about himself that was essentially the plot of the film Goonies. Later, Bill corners 88 and reveals that he wishes to rob everything he can from Dr. Roberts, holding a grudge from college when Roberts destroyed Ruff's teeth testing an early experimental form of truth-paste. Ruff attempts to enlist 88's help, and when 88 refuses, Ruff pushes him into the trash compactor and shuts the door, trapping him.
In the trash compactor, 88 meets the strange creature Norf-Norf, who shows him a way into the HVAC ducts so 88 can go throughout the facility trying to get help and warn the others of Ruff's malicious intentions. Along the way, they stop at the vents of Randy's room, where 88 declines to try to get his attention, as he is put off by Randy's bizarre behavior. Next, they stop near a room (possibly the pharmacy) where Ahmed is having a wild party with some Japanese people dressed in a sort of rockabilly style. The pharmacist makes her first appearance here, as a sort of background character playing video games while Ahmed and his friends party maniacally around her. 88 tries to get Ahmed's attention, but fails due to the noise.
Meanwhile, Ruff tells Dr. Roberts by the dream chamber that he wants to give him a free picture for his office. Dr. Roberts allows him into his office alone, where he immediately begins stealing files with a USB thumb drive disguised as a false tooth. T.E.R.R.Y. catches him, and when he turns to tell the others, Bill cranks his headpiece, causing him to malfunction.
Ruff returns to the dream chamber, and T.E.R.R.Y. somehow reactivates and returns. He tells the staff what Ruff has done. By this time, 88 has gotten to the duct by the dream chamber, nearly frozen to death. His weight causes the duct to collapse, which provides enough distraction for Dr. Roberts to knock Ruff out.
