Get Jiro! is an upcoming animated series produced by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. It is based on Vertigo Comics’ Get Jiro! graphic novels by co-writers Anthony Bourdain, Joel Rose and artist Langdon Foss. The series will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation and animated by Mercury Filmworks.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Adult Swim has put in a series order for a Get Jiro! series from Sharper co-writers Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. Like the comics, the new series will tell the story of a deadly sushi chef living in a dystopian near future where restaurant-goers murder for reservations.

In September 2024, Brian Tee was announced to be voicing the protagonist. The series was previewed at Annecy from June 10-13, 2025.

Synopsis

The first comic written by Anthony Bourdain, renowned chef, writer and host of the Travel Channel's Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations television show. Mafia chefs who dominate the city of Los Angeles in an apocalyptic environment and who fight to have Jiro on their side. Jiro is an extraordinary sushi chef who gets upset and hates people who ask him for a California Roll and there are people who dedicate their entire lives to cooking, chefs who have spent years perfecting their rice.
