John Witherspoon (January 27, 1942 – October 29, 2019) was an American comedian and actor known for such films as Friday, playing Pops in the sitcom The Wayans Bros. He first appeared on Adult Swim, voicing Robert Freeman on The Boondocks, he then played Lloyd in Black Jesus and appeared in Black Dynamite and The Jellies!. Witherspoon died of a heart attack at his home in Sherman Oaks, California, on October 29, 2019, at age 77.
