Overview[]

Off The Air premiered in the United States in Adult Swim's DVR Theater, unannounced, on January 1, 2011. The series lacks storylines and plots and consist only of a collection of animations, internet videos and archival footage, which are held loosely together by a theme. Although no episodes of the series are currently available on DVD, iTunes, or the Build Your Own DVD section on AdultSwim.com, all episodes were made permanently available on Adult Swim Gold section on Adult Swim Gold.

In a May 2011 bump, Adult Swim announced that further episodes of Off the Air will be produced.

Adult Swim aired a marathon of 5 episodes on the evening of November 5, 2011, to help transition out of Daylight Saving Time.

Off The Air has been received positively and dubbed a cult phenomenon by critics & Adult Swim itself.

The series has aired 40 episodes and 3 specials over the course of 11 seasons, including two episodes, Technology (By Wham City) and Paradise (By Ghosting.tv), that Adult Swim announced on October 13, 2017, would air in late 2017.[1] On December 31, 2019, Dave hughes claimed that the episode Patterns was the Last one for Now, indicating that the series had been put on hiatus until further notice. However the series returned in 2020 and 2021.

Space Ghost, Zorak, Moltar and Brak from Space Ghost Coast to Coast makes cameos in many episodes.
