Saved by the Bell

Saved by the Bell was an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1989 to 1993. The series aired on Adult Swim for a period of two weeks beginning on April 17, 2006, with the network feigning interest in continuing to run the show.

As the first live action series on the network and Cartoon Network, reactions to the show airing on the Adult Swim Message Boards were fairly negative and as such a fake press release was posted on the website claiming the network was reviving the show under the direction of Matt Laster, VP of Turner Entertainment's newly created 80's Reclamation Department, claiming The fans have really shown their support and come out in droves on the AdultSwim.com website.[1] the purported reboot would feature Screech as Bayside's principal, who, upon being overwhelmed by the current students, enlists the help of his friends.

The incident was later revealed to have been a joke,[2] though Matt Laster was a real employee of Williams Street at the time, he was not a VP. On September 17, 2019 after news of a real reboot, former writer Merrill Hagan, who was in charge of the website at the time revealed he had make the fake press release as a joke intended mostly for the message board community.

Incidentally, The Cast Of Saved by the Bell would reunite for a Robot Chicken sketch, except for Tiffani Amber Thiessen, whose character is voiced by Chad Morgan instead and Elizabeth Berkley, who was coincidentally mentioned as not appearing in the fake reboot as well.
